Whoever happens to stop by this blog may wonder why I started it. Whenever I read news stories online I always like to put a face to the story. So I got to thinking maybe other people would as well. I always keep up on WV news and most stories don't have the mugshots with them so I hunt them up online and post them with the story. It's not that hard and I don't know why the state news sites don't do it

Woman sentenced in drug charges


FAIRMONT — A Marion County woman was sentenced in federal district court last week after pleading guilty to drug charges.

Twenty-two-year-old Stacey Marie Longwell of Four States will spend the next 36 months in prison for distributing cocaine base within 1,000 feet of Washington Irving Middle School in Clarksburg in April of 2008. The sentence will be followed by six years supervised release.

According to a press release from acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen, Longwell pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced last Friday in United States District Court in Clarksburg. She is currently in federal custody.

The case was prosecuted by U.S. Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan and investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force.

This unit consists of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
