Woman charged with distribution of child porn

WELCH — Federal prosecutors returned a three count indictment Wednesday against a McDowell County woman charging her with the production and distribution of child pornography.

A grand jury for the Southern District of West Virginia returned the three count indictment against Stacey Nichole Farmer, 32, of Cucumber, according to a public information release by United States Attorney Charles T. Miller.

According to count one of the indictment, on or about Feb. 18, 2009, at or near Squire, Farmer, also known as “Stacey Wright,” did “knowingly permit such minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct and such visual depiction was produced and transmitted using materials that had been mailed, shipped and transported in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce by any means, including by computer.”

Count two of indictment alleges the woman “did knowingly employ, use, persuade, induce, entice and coerce a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct.”

Count three of the indictment alleges the woman did “knowingly mail, transport and ship using a means and facility of interstate and foreign commerce and in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce by any means, including by computer, child pornography,” or visual depiction’s of children under the age of 18 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

The case was originally investigated by the West Virginia State Police Welch Detachment.
